Structural Engineer
Our leading client designs and builds some of the largest and most complex upgrading and refining facilities in Canada. We are well positioned to participate in more of the industry's most promising projects. We are currently seeking five Structural Engineers to join our growing team.
Position Summary
Will provide design engineering services for the planning and development of major structural and civil projects such as facilities for refinery and petrochemical plants including buildings, roads, bridges, dams, source water and waste water management systems and industrial structural steel fabrications. Designers will be responsible for the 2D and 3D CAD design and modeling of complex industrial civil and structural projects from preliminary concepts and sketches.
Key Responsibilities/ Requirements
· Direct planning, design / review plans for erection of structures requiring stress analysis
· Design structure to meet estimated load requirements, computing size, shape, strength and type of structural members or perform structural analysis of plans and structures prepared by private engineers
· Inspect, recommend repair / replace defective members or rebuilding of entire structure
· Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals and data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
· Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design / drafting equipment and software
· Read blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, reports; prepare contract documents
· Specialized work in support of such projects as gas generation and distribution, steam plant engineering, system planning, mineral processing and extraction
