Job Description
Our client, a successful oil and gas producer is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to come and join their busy team.
Job Duties
You will be part of a small team and have significant interaction with the CFO and Executive team. This is a developmental position in which the successful candidate will obtain a thorough understanding of public-company financial reporting, corporate tax, and oil & gas operations
· Prepare monthly internal financial statements and analysis of financial results for distribution to the Executive team
· Prepare external quarterly financial statements and notes
· Assist in the preparation of the MD&A and AIF
· Calculate ARO, depletion, stock-based compensation, hedge accounting, ceiling test, earnings per share and future income taxes
· Prepare operating cost accrual and G&A accrual
· Maintain legal entity accounting records
· Research and implement new accounting standards and play a key role in the Company’s conversion to IFRS
· Compile information required for completion of corporate tax returns
· Update CSOX control documentation as it relates to financial reporting
· Liaise with external auditors
Requirements
· Accounting designation, CA preferred
· 1-3 years post designation experience
· Canadian GAAP knowledge
· Oil and gas experience and corporate tax experience preferred
