Our client a major player in the Oil and Gas industry has an immediate backfill position for a strong Business Systems Analyst.
Basic Functions:
The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for providing project and maintenance support for applications, processes and reporting tools that are integrated to core accounting, production accounting, and land systems. Methods of deployment are governed by global process and application standards, cost effectiveness of solutions, and a mandate to minimize system redundancy. The successful candidate will ideally be an IT generalist with a basic understanding of oil & gas business processes, and proven success in application deployment, customer support and user training.
Relationships:
Reporting directly to the IT Business Systems Supervisor, the Business Systems Analyst acts as a 1st level liaison between business application users, departmental business analysts, software vendors and IT infrastructure resources to identify and deliver day-to-day and project reporting and associated process solutions. Key customer groups include Accounting, Production Accounting, Land, Operations, Marketing, and Health, Environment, & Safety.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Pro-actively integrate and formulate working relationship with user communities to identify opportunities and manage information reporting and workflow improvement projects from inception to roll out
· Provide 1st level contact for day-to-day reporting application requests
· Utilizing effective communication with existing vendors and IS technical staff, test reporting processes for system upgrades, patches and maintenance as well as new module development
· Reporting tool maintenance, processing and administration for Powerview (data archiving), Pulse (lease operations reporting), and Crystal Reports and Business Objects Enterprise (custom reporting)
· IS content publisher and primary page developer for internal intranet site
· Develop and deliver related user training programs for office and field staff
· Maintain applicable process documentation, including compliance documentation
· Backup for Reporting Systems Analyst
Qualifications:
· Good understanding of relational database structure concepts
· Detailed working knowledge of Oracle sql languages & related reporting tools (TOAD, Crystal Reports, Busines Objects WEB Intelligence)
· Working knowledge of one or more of the following core business systems: QBFM, PRISM, CSexplorer, Powerview, AFE Navigator
· Experience in project management methodology
· Good application troubleshooting skills
· Business workflow and Project and Change Management skills to deploy new applications or initiatives; ability to work in a mature process oriented environment
· Ability to work independently and to meet delivery deadlines for users
· Business or Information Systems degree or diploma
· At least 5 years oil & gas industry experience, equivalent experience in other industries will be considered
· Experience in customer support
· Self-starter with superior inter-personal, communication, and organizational skills
· A demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team is essential
Skills:
