Responsibilities:
Consistently and repeatedly provides information and input to those responsible for setting Business Unit (BU) or PSCM strategic direction
Provides strategic and technical advice and makes decisions based on clear understanding of risk
Provides advice and counsel directly to PSCM leaders globally through an expanding and acknowledged sphere of influence in PSCM
Develops / gathers innovative / non-traditional ideas and applies strategically important solutions to various projects. Innovates and adapts business processes and strategies from other companies/ businesses/industries
Pursues excellence within own area of expertise with a track record of well-documented internal solutions and external contributions to the benefit
Leads best practice and use of knowledge management processes and tools in PSCM.
Acts as a leading driving force in the networks
Actively coaches, mentors and develops other professionals
Provides expert advice to support global PSCM initiatives
Participates in peer reviews for major project activities
Develops and delivers training programs
Prepares quarterly guidance notes to the PSCM network on hot topics or areas of best practice
Develops contacts for PSCM with external companies / educational establishments and industry bodies
Provides ad hoc advice to the PSCM network
Suggests and builds innovative ideas in PSCM and influences the education process
Actively contributes to the transformation of PSCM
Leads creative thinking and helps translate ideas to the PSCM community
Drives the need for measures to establish value contribution
Drives the latest thinking and techniques in Supplier Relationship Management, SQM and other processes
Proactively operates across segments and businesses to the wider benefit
Anticipates the future to maximize benefit whilst minimizing risk
Proactively explores the wider supply and industry markets to identify opportunities that BP can leverage for great benefit delivery or to mitigate supply risk e.g. Technology developments, acquisition impacts
Requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the UK on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer
The willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
Minimum of a University degree (Four year / Bachelor's degree)
Relevant purchasing and supply chain experience
Demonstrates skillful application of Demand management, Project Management and Financial Skills
Demonstrates mastery of Sourcing, Supply chain risk management, Contract execution and management, Supplier performance management, Materials management, Negotiating and Influencing Strategy
Demonstrates expertise in Market sector strategy development & application
Sponsors and collaborates on developing internal & external relationships
Advocates and proactively supports living by our Values such as: Implementing the Code of Conduct &Management Framework, delivering process & personal safety, driving to make a difference, bringing out the best in people, and performance management
Relevant oil and gas industry experience
Relevant professional training, development and affiliation, and commercial experience.
