Responsibilities:
Line management responsibility (performance management, appraisals etc) for a team of project managers.
Working with the GPS Programme Manager to identify essential quality standards for project reviews and identify areas for improvement.
Manage small to medium sized projects with a value of up to $5m, adhering to all Oil and GPS governance processes and BP standards including OPAL and CVP, as part of the GPS project management team.
Develop and maintain a schedule of work for project managers, including utilisation and duration, which reflect the priorities of GPS.
Work with project management team to track project progress, risks, budget etc, review project status reports and ensure timely and accurate MI is provided.
Undertake quality reviews of projects within the team, ensuring that all Oil and GPS governance processes and standards, including OPAL and CVP, are adhered to.
Provide a primary escalation point for project management issues within the team and ensuring that unresolved issues are raised in a timely manner to the Programme Manager.
Deputise for the GPS Programme Manager as required.
Requirements:
Proven experience managing individual software development project/release deliveries and knowledge of the full delivery lifecycle.
Proven experience of managing projects within a structured process environment and an understanding of what constitutes best practice.
Demonstrated experience of managing a team of up to 8 including appraisals, performance monitoring and personal development.
Budgetary experience $ 500K – 5 million.
