Responsibilities
· Act as a technical interface with customers, establishing professional relationships to ensure that the project requirements are fully defined and agreed.
· Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to commencing work produces functional and concept technical design specifications and provides technical leadership, support and expertise for single discipline
· Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality and supporting documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by allocating work assignments to project team
· Ensures that work assignments are executed to appropriate standards and quality systems (Implementation, Test en Documentation)
· Monitors and controls assigned work scope against the project plan, ensures effective change control and identifies risks/opportunities.
· Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements within the engineering group.
· Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines
· Reports progress and technical problems to project and engineering supervisor
· Actively contributes in the pre-engineering phase of a project. As such, identifies to the customer which information is required before project starts
· Assist sales organization in defining and estimating the engineering/technical scope of work
Qualifications
· DCS - TPS, TDC3000, PlantScape, Experion, Delta V, Baileys
· FEED, design and operations exposure would be an asset
· Pre-commissioning and commissioning experience
· Developed mentoring and coaching skills, leading DCS teams, from conceptual design through detail design
· Process control engineering specialization with a chemical or electrical engineering degree is highly desired
· Detailed knowledge of engineering procedures and quality assurance
· Experience wit P&IDs, Control Narratives and C&E (Cause & Effects)
· Strong computer skills
· Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills
· Knowledge of DCS platforms (TPS, PlantScape, Experion)
· Experience with GUI (Graphic User Interface); Historization, Trends, Alarming
· Familiar with PLC - C200, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicom/Schneider
· Server and Client communication; COM/DCOM, Database, Scripting -Visual Basic
· Networking principles; Cisco switches, DMZ - firewalls
· Prior experience with SIS/ESD and Foundation Fieldbus will be considered an asset
· Registration with APEGGA (or eligible to register with APEGGA)
· 12+ years of experience in automation control or EPC environment
Travel requirement: 25 % depending on particular project
