Responsibilities:
· Develop the detailed specifications for the project by utilizing the client specifications and/or company general specifications
· Prepare the technical sections of inquiries for subcontracts, review tenders and make recommendations leading to the selection of vendors
· Develop and execute designs for foundations, structural steel, stacks, earthwork and site drainage
· Develop competent knowledge in all areas of responsibilities of the Civil Department such as buildings, interior finishing and fireproofing
· Prepare or assist in preparation of the cost estimates for the Civil accounts for bids and proposal work
· Participate in the developmental performance evaluation for the Civil staff
· Assist in organizing and maintaining departmental design guidelines
· When required on a project, coordinate check-out and start-up of field activities and coordinate work with Construction Superintendent
· When assigned by the chief civil engineer, carry out the responsibilities of a "Lead Engineer" on a given project
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor degree in Engineering or Applied Science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
· Broad engineering background normally acquired through 6-10 years of experience
· Membership in APEGGA
