Reports to: Manager of Procurement
Supervises: May supervise assigned Buyers, Expeditors
Principle Duties - Policies, Procedures and Objectives
Must be able to endorse all policies and procedures as set forth in the Company Purchasing Manual and the Special Job Instructions. Participate in helping the Purchasing Department obtain objectives.
Purchasing
- Responsible for all Inquiries, Quotations, Warranties, Terms of Payment, Vendor selection and award of orders to Vendors.
- Gathers information on material, equipment and services regarding availability and current trends.
- Must be able to evaluate Vendors before order award on their ability to perform the services or furnish the materials required.
- Interviews, corresponds and negotiates with Vendor companies to secure information and prices.
- Acts as liaison between Suppliers and Company personnel.
- Obtains project budgeted dollars for the purpose of determining the buy-out objectives for the material they are responsible for.
Expediting
- Performs duties of Senior Expeditor, as required.
Qualifications
- Surplus Materials and Equipment
- Responsible for negotiating a Surplus Material Return Clause with vendors.
- Accountable for disposal of surplus materials at project completion.
Owner / Vendor Relations
- Promotes and maintains good Company relations with Vendors and Owner’s Representatives.
