An opportunity exists for a Planner to join our client's Planning & Landscape Architecture Group comprised of collaboratie, creative, and visionary professionals who create high-quality and sustainable environments that are functional, innovative, appropriate, and attractive.
 
The Ideal Candidate
  • The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of Land Development, Official Plan Development and services to the private and public sectors.
  • The successful candidate will oversee and direct ound client's Planning functions in the London and Southwestern Ontario region.
  • Working with other leadership staff, you will be accountable for developing, implementing and achieving Planning growth and performance objectives.
  • You will be comfortable representing clients at all levels of Government and at the Ontario Municipal Board when necessary.
Responsibilities
 
Specific roles and responsibilities include:
  • Business development
  • Client relations
  • Proposal preparation
  • Scoping of technical work
  • Professional fee negotiating and scheduling
  • Providing strategic specialist expertise and advice
  • Liaison with review and approval agencies
  • Mentoring technical staff and professional staff
  • Developing technical papers/public presentations
Requirements
  • You should have a degree in planning or an academic equivalent and are a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
  • With a minimum of 10 years experience in the implementation of planning and land development projects, you will have highly successful experience in project management, team leadership, financial management, communications, presentation, and team building capabilities.
  • Ideally, you have a thorough knowledge of the provincial and local approval processes, site planning and urban design and have developed a strong relationship with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Your excellent communication skills allow you to effectively interact with clients, approval authorities, and the public.
  • To meet the expectations of this challenging position, you also have prior consulting experience within Ontario and have established client and agency contacts.
Compensation and Benefits Details
  • 121k - 150k
  • This opportunity provides highly competitive benefits and extremely rewarding compensation plans.
