Job Description
 
  • Analyze equipment to determine rotordynamic feasibility of design using Rotordynamics codes such as XLTRC or Romac. Perform rotordynamic analysis including API analysis and reports. Establish criteria for safe designs. Recommend design modifications.
  • Provide expert knowledge of components like rotor, bearings, seals, couplings from rotordynamic aspects; interpret mechanical design drawings and liaison with Design Engineers to ensure timely transfer of information and execution of the project. Assists and advises project managers and designer engineer in specifying bearing, seal, and rotating assembly hardware.
  • Partner with Design Engineers, Designers, Aerodynamicists and Structural analyst to develop solutions to customers' requirements. Interact with other functional groups with in the company (Project Management, Manufacturing and Quality/Testing) as well as external customers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate rotordynamic Engineering activities with global and outsourcing teams.
  • Familiar with diagnosing and monitoring vibration as well as instrumentation hardware/software. Trouble shooting Rotordynamics related field issues and shop testing issues and provide design fixes. Perform Root Cause Analysis.
 
Qualifications
 
  • Minimum 4 years Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HS Diploma with 5+ years of Engineering experience in turbo machinery industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with one or more of the following turbo-machinery: Expanders, Steam Turbines, Axial Compressors, Centrifugal Compressors, Gas turbines. This includes product design, analyze, optimization, validation and testing, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Proven experience (minimum of 1 year) in rotors, bearings, seals and modeling techniques for rotor unbalance response and stability analysis, lateral and torsional analysis as well as train transient torsional analysis.
  • Proven experience (minimum of 1 year) utilizing internationally recognized codes like XLTRC or Romac, etc.
