Overview
Provide correct, cleaned, inspected, and properly prepared pipe to complete the job according to customer’s requirements.
Job Description
Operate crane and/or forklift to load and unload jobs
Clean, service, and refurbish tools as required by supervisor
Follow lead of Pipe Technician III
Remove protectors
Manually role pipe through stages of cleaning process
Perform unsupervised application of external coatings
Load and unload tubulars
Assist in training Pipe Tech I’s.
Reface connections
Clean end areas of pipe
Proficient at operation and repairs of pipe cleaning machine
Inspection of end areas of tubulars
Available on a 24 hour basis to respond to customer needs
Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
Qualifications
2-5 years experience
Good verbal communication skills
Familiarity with equipment and services utilized by the facilities
Extensive knowledge of types of connections, weights, and grades of tubulars
Mechanical aptitude
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
