Overview
Provide inspection on end area of tubular products and equipment.
Job Description
Inspect end areas of drill pipe, collars, Kelly’s subs, and heavy weight pipe.
Inside diameter (I.D.) cleaning of collars, pipe, Kelly’s and subs.
Perform duties of a Pipe Technician IV when necessary.
Read and interpret Weatherford manuals to meet compliance standards.
Complete inspection reports.
Help train Pipe Technicians in inspection processes.
Responsible for maintenance of inspection equipment.
Willingness to work long hours due to travel.
Available on a 24 hour call basis to respond to customer needs.
Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Note: Inspect Weatherford wash pipe, drill collars, subs and handling tools. Assist in keeping yard a shop in order and clean. Perform duties familiar with job description and assist in any area deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Previous related oil field experience or equivalent
Capable of using calipers and other measurements devices
Proficient mathematical skills in terms of fractions, measurements and conversions
Should be able to work closely with fellow employees
Maintain a M.P.I. Level I Certification
