[Company] is currently seeking applicants for the full time position of Superintendent, Mechanical located in Sherwood Park, AB.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assess General Foremen and Foreman readiness for their role at the onset of each shift
- Capturing and reporting crew safety concerns in the weekly safety meeting
- Constantly assessing the crews’ execution methodology
- Ensuring that all required permits are in place prior to the start of work
- Ensuring that all tools and equipment used in the execution of the work have been inspected and are in good repair, color coded as necessary
- Ensuring that all workers receive the proper training required
- Ensuring all personnel are performing up to safety expectations
- Owner of the Work Face Planning team and process.
- Actively track out of scope work
- Address problems with manpower, safety, materials or customers through Construction Management.
- Assign work to the GF in your area
- Attend meetings as required by Management
- Provide direction to discipline QC Inspector, ensuring the requirements are met.
- Provide trade specific training and mentoring to staff as required
- Review job plans
The following skills and qualifications are required:
- Inter provincial Journeyman ticket
- High school diploma, Technical diploma or certification from an accredited technical institute (CET).
- supervisory or project management training from an accredited construction industry association
- 7 - 10 years in a journeyman or supervisory capacity in an industrial or commercial work environment
- Proven proficiency as a foreman is preferred
- Excellent planning, organization, technical, leadership and communication skills
