Reporting to the Team Leader, Enterprise Infrastructure Services, Deskside, the candidate is primarily responsible for solution design, project implementation, and daily operation of infrastructure services as they relate to supporting the following Enterprise Deskside Solutions : Hardware technology in HP Desktop, HP TFT Displays, HP Laptops, Mobile Computing (BlackBerry, HP iPaq), HP Printers (LaserJet, Color Laser, Inkjet and Multifunctional Device), Virtualization (VMware ESX/GSX, VirtualServer), Software technology in Microsoft solutions (Windows, Office, Exchange, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Internet Information Services, Project, Visio, Office Communication Services, LiveMeeting, SharePoint, SMS, Active Directory, Group Policy, DFS), and Security solutions (Trend Micro Anti-Virus, Personal Firewall), Directory (WINS/DHCP/OID/DNS), RSA SecurID/ClearTrust, BoKS, Windows Cluster, Symantec/Veritas Foundation Suite, Advance TCP/IP networking foundation concepts (OSI), Citrix Server, Wide Area File Server, RightFax, Attachmate NetIQ, Microsoft MOM, HP Systems Insight Manager, Symantec/Veritas BareMetalRestore, Norton Ghost, Enterprise Vault, Scripting Languages (C, VBasic, Batch), HP Print/Plot, Security Intrusion/Vulnerability.
This position is responsible for implementing project deliverables that would span various technology disciplines (Telecom, Windows, Unix, Storage, Database, Security, and Web/Middleware Applications), some of which are at geographically diverse locations (Calgary, Markham, St.John's, London).
The candidate will work closely with other team leaders, specifically Team Leaders for the following IS Enterprise Infrastructure Services teams: Windows Server, Unix Server, Storage, Database, Security, and Network; as well as, maintaining cooperative and collaborative working relationship with selectively outsourced operations with a number of contracted resources, in supporting/cross impact of technical architecture designs and on-going operations (eg: upgrades, problem resolutions), and disaster recovery processes.
Accountabilities:
· Work to provide architecture and on-going operations, and disaster recovery processes;
· Work with Corporate, Upstream, Oil Sands, Downstream, International & Offshore service delivery groups to provide technical support with respect to Enterprise Infrastructure Deskside (as noted);
· Responsible for providing daily operations of Enterprise Infrastructure Deskside Solutions (as noted);
· Maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationship with selectively outsourced operations with a number of contracted resources;
· Participate in ITIL practices, such as Change & Problem Management, SRS Change Request, SOX, and Performance Reporting;
· Stay current, awareness of technology, and technology trends & directions to provide expertise in the most current principles and practices of managing Enterprise Infrastructure Deskside Solutions (as noted);
· Approximately 6000 employees and contractors are directly affected by the delivery of (as noted) services across North America, and another 1000 indirectly affected in International Business Unit and East Coast;
· Provides input to individual/team work plans, executes projects and assignments according to the work plan ensuring quality and deadlines are met;
· Implements controls and monitors access to.
· Enterprise Infrastructure Deskside Solutions (as noted):
· Monitors key performance indicators and analyze usage trends of Enterprise Infrastructure Deskside Solutions (as noted);
· Maintains backup and recovery processes, and confirms and test Disaster Recovery readiness;
· Provides application and data recovery and problem resolution including initiating contact with Vendors for technical support;
· Provides input to technical standards best practice, administration practices; operational process, policies and procedures.
Capability Requirements:
Enterprise Infrastructure Deskside Experience:
· High proficiency in the following: Hardware technology in HP Desktop, HP TFT Displays, HP Laptops, Mobile Computing (BlackBerry, HP iPaq), HP Printers (LaserJet, Color Laser, Inkjet and Multifunctional Device), Virtualization (VMware ESX/GSX, VirtualServer), Software technology in Microsoft solutions (Windows, Office, Exchange, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Internet Information Services, Project, Visio, Office Communication Services, LiveMeeting, SharePoint, SMS,
· Active Directory, Group Policy, DFS), and Security solutions (Trend Micro Anti-Virus, Personal Firewall), Directory (WINS/DHCP/OID/DNS), RSA SecurID/ClearTrust, BoKS, Windows Cluster, Symantec/Veritas Foundation Suite, Advance TCP/IP networking foundation concepts (OSI), Citrix Server, Wide Area File Server, RightFax;
· High proficiency with the following tools: Attachmate NetIQ, Microsoft MOM, HP Systems Insight Manager, Symantec/Veritas BareMetalRestore, Norton Ghost, Enterprise Vault, Scripting Languages (C, VBasic, Batch), HP Print/Plot, Security Intrusion/Vulnerability; Familiarity with the following environments: SAP R3, PeopleSoft Financial, Oracle DB, Oracle Portal, QByte Accounting, Information Builder WebFocus, Sun Identity Manager, Sun iPlanet Portal, Apache, Tomcat, Java Applet, BEA WebLogic, Microsoft Access/SQL Server;
· Ability to install, upgrade, perform problem isolation/resolution using the above tools to support the above Enterprise Infrastructure Deskside Solutions.
· Information Technology Experience:
· At least 10 to 15 years of experience delivering IT solutions.
· A University degree in Computing Science from an accredited institution would be considered a plus.
· High degree of technical competence in areas of Enterprise Infrastructure Services # Deskside Solutions.
· Must have previous experience with implementation of IT projects related to Enterprise Infrastructure Services -
· Deskside Solutions.
· Strong conflict resolution, project management, and complex problem solving skills.
Additional Information:
· Please note there are two positions available;
· Will often be working indirectly with dotted-line reporting to other IT Team Leaders, as necessary;
· Willingness to accept call-in ("On-Call") responsibility;-
· Some work will be required outside of normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 05:00pm);
· Will share off-hour work with other team members at various geographical locations;
· Will be supporting and interacting with personnel and systems that span across various geographical locations with wide range of time zones; as much as 7 hours ahead when working with the International & Offshore Business Unit based in UK - London & Aberdeen, 8 hours ahead when working with The Hague and Essen, 3.5 hours ahead when working with the East Coast, and 2 hours ahead when working with Central/Eastern Region;
· Will be expected to be part of 24x7 on-call rotations with each rotation lasting 7 days, and approximately 8 to 12 occurrences per year;
· Regular travel to various business locations will be required (ie: Central/Eastern region, Northern Alberta/BC, East Coast, International).
