Primary Focus
Responsible for developing, implementing, administering and improving the standard risk management system in Major Projects. Provides technical support, training, and facilitates risk assessment, and risk response planning sessions in accordance with the [Employer] risk management standard process.
Responsibilities
- Establish and implement project risk management methods, procedures and tools in the organization.
- Strengthen the risk management expertise within project management office (PMO).
- Flags, quantifies and develops risk response strategies across the portfolio of major projects.
- Leads risk decision-making processes and communicates between major project teams and functional areas.
- Provides input to the risk register standard.
- Monitors and reports project residual risk levels to Enbridge management.
- Facilitates risk management workshops related to any of the elements of standard practice.
- Promotes integration of the risk management process with other standard practices.
- Develops and maintain the corporate risk database.
- Participates in definition of strategic goals and supports achievement of PMOs performance targets.
- Supports achievements of project specific risk effectiveness targets.
- Thoroughly understands cost estimate breakdown structure, schedule activity logics and risk modeling techniques to assist third party quantitative risk assessment and reporting.
- Develops typical templates and flow charts for project risk management process.
- Participate as a member of the Enbridge Risk Management Stakeholders Group.
Qualifications
- 6-8 years relevant working experience, with project, plant or field construction exposure (prefer major projects in oil and gas energy).
- Hands on job experience related to risk or reliability management.
- Solid understanding of project planning and scheduling processes.
- Experience leading and facilitating work in a group environment.
- Self motivated, problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Excellent practical knowledge in statistical methods, probability, reliability and/or risk analysis methods.
- Knowledge of capital cost estimating and cost management, including trending, forecasting, earned value and incurred costs.
- Knowledge and experience in WBS, RBS and CBS (cost breakdown structure) and cost elements as well as recasting of estimates.
- Practical knowledge or exposure to project schedule risk modeling tools such as @Risk, Pertmaster or RiskyProject would be an asset.
- Postsecondary education in engineering.
- Project management, construction management or related disciplines will be an asset.
