Requirements:
BS Engineering.
Seven (7) years in the oil industry or similar process industry.
Experience must be such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as being capable of project and design assignments beyond the ability of the basic professional Engineer III or is qualified to an outstanding degree in one or another Specialist category.
Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, US and Aramco Codes, Standards and Specifications.
Must have experience in pipeline risk assessment.
Must have thorough knowledge or piping materials and piping design and Saudi Aramco and/or ASME standards.
Good knowledge of Pipeline Maintenance practices such as sleeving, hot tapping and thrust boring operations.
Must be familiar with engineering calculations such as, hydraulic analysis, corrosion defect evaluation, MAOP calculations, and pipeline.
Must have an understanding of corrosion mechanisms, coatings and cathodlc protection. Accreditation by the National
Association of Corrosion engineers as a corrosion specialist would be an advantage.
Must be familiar with Geographical Information systems (GIS) and Pipelines Data Management Systems.
Responsibilities:
Review and revise our Standards.
Provide expert advice and assistance to design, construction, operations and maintenance personnel on matters pertaining to pipeline operation, maintenance and construction. Initiate and/or perform special studies in pipeline technology to promote the reliability, safety or integrity of the Pipelines, help initiate/prepare budget scope definitions, evaluate projects scope on work, cost impact and long-range cost effectiveness on existing and planned facilities and coordinate the preparation of reports.
Look for and acquire technology to improve pipeline operational efficiency and/or resolve related problems.
