Responsibilities:

Carry out assigned tasks, and produce deliverables competently and effectively, within time and budget constraints, such that all stated project objectives are satisfied.
Plans and manages own workload.
Observe and comply with all relevant HS&E requirements for the assigned project or projects.
Collaborate and co-ordinate with other engineers, designers and technical personnel (within his own discipline and with those from other disciplines) in the execution of the project.
Assist, guide or mentor (as appropriate, in co-ordination with the Lead and Chief Engineers) less experienced team members to develop their technical and project skills.
Use proven  work methods and standardised deliverables / tools where possible to maximise design efficiency and minimise risk of error.
Work within the Quality Management System.
Assist the Lead Engineer to manage change within the project by advising him / her promptly of anything that varies the project scope, budget or schedule.
Assist the Lead Engineer with preparation of cost, time and resource requirement estimates for nominated projects, scope changes or proposals.
Provide timely and accurate discipline progress and forecasting data to the lead engineer as requested.
Perform manual and computer stress analysis of piping systems in accordance with applicable codes, regulations and standards.
Developing engineering and technical specifications for project execution.
Selection and specification of piping flexibility and supporting components.
Review and approval of piping isometrics prior to fabrication and installation.
Review of vendor equipment drawings and calculations.

Requirements: 

Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university. 
8 years post graduation experience. 
Able to work semi-autonomously with minimal technical guidance 
Significant experience within the oil and gas industry. 
Fluency in spoken and written English 
Experience with Caesar II or Autopipe piping stress analysis software. 
Good working knowledge of manual calculations relevant to stress analysis. 
Complete familiarity with relevant codes and standards pertaining to the oil and gas industry.

Additional Information:

Preference will be given to candidates with extensive work experience at a senior level within the oil and gas industry.
An ability to lead and manage small groups of engineers and designers within discipline teams, in the execution of project tasks.
Sound technical knowledge of the discipline
Significant previous experience with a major engineering design services provider.
Some ‘hands-on’ experience in a construction or operating plant environment would be well regarded
