Project Manager - Infrastructure
Our large Oil and Gas client has a great full time position for a Project Manager
The Project Managers will review and monitor the status of projects undertaken by IS Operations. They will also work with IS Operations' Solutions Architect to allocate and track resources. This position will analyze and track work requests and project work from other IS teams or business areas. They will be required to identify and resolve issues relating to project and work requests. The individual will work closely with the Manager, Service Delivery to monitor projects.
Projects within IS Operations may be grouped together under a portfolio or program and assigned to the Project Manager. The Project Manager will oversee and provide guidance to ensure successful completion of all projects within their assigned programs.
Skills and Qualifications
Skills
· Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
· Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities.
· Sound knowledge of IS Operations.
· Ability to identify, advise and resolve project and work request issues.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint are required.
· Solid understanding of Project Management principles.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Teamwork attitude with a willingness to learn and collaborate with technical and non-technical staff.
· Self-motivation with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
Qualifications
· 10 to 15 years in the Information Technology and systems analysis.
· PMP certification (preferred)
· Experience leading successful projects in IS and specifically Infrastructure related projects.
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
· Ability to identify issues and follow them through to successful resolution.
· Demonstrated technical proficiency and documentation skills as well as project scheduling and resource planning;
· Background in the Oil/Gas industry is an asset.
· Proficiency with a project planning tool such as Primavera or MS Project is required
· Project management certification or willingness to pursue project management certification
· University degree or technical school diploma.
