Responsibilities
- The position will report to Manager, Facilities Drafting and CADD Support.
- The candidate will support a team that is responsible for the design and drafting of pipeline and related facilities.
- Performs professional duties requiring knowledge in computer science, networking, database, math, CADD graphics and engineering techniques.
- Support of CADD software including Bentley'sbase product, Microstation, and other add on components including InRoads/Survey SelectCAD, IRAS/B, PlantSpace and, also, GIS tools of which are ArcGIS and ArcView.
- Responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting CADD software, hardware and business problems and recommending appropriate solutions to management.
- Customization and enhancement of in-house developed and purchased software applications.
- Stays abreast of new support systems technology and/or software developments and participates in CADD long range planning with Engineering Services management.
- Communicate with outside engineering contractors ensuring deliverables are in proper format and to the standards set forth in contractual agreement.
- Communicates effectively with CADD designers/drafters and the project groups.
- Participates in providing support in cross-city team environment including support of Salt Lake City office, field locations and division offices.
- Develops training curriculums and trains customers on the suite of software used by department to ensure competency.
- Assists with the documentation of CADD support standards, technical processes and implementation practices.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related degree is preferred.
- Employees without a degree will be considered if they have equivalent experience.
- Experience in the support of Microstation, InRoads, IRAS/B and PlantSpace is desired.
- Knowledge of the design and customization of software applications is desired.
- Experience supporting an end-user environment is a plus.
- Experience/skills with utilization of ArcGIS and/or ArcView with an enterprise wide GIS is a plus.
- Applicant should be skilled in interpersonal relations, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be adept at problem solving, have strong organization, teamwork and customer service skills, and be able to handle multiple projects at the same time..
