Job Description:
Responsibilities of this position will include applying the company’s engineering principles to complete engineering designs associated with capital projects and ongoing plant operations; technical and execution activities will be performed including system studies, procurement packages, calculations; preparing and performing project estimates, schedules, effort-hours, and material forecasts to ensure consistency with engineering standards and operating principles; interfacing with internal and external clients as required for successful project execution.
Job Requirements
Candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Control Systems Engineering/ Design. Diverse experience is required in both controls and instrumentation aspects of oil and gas capital projects, including development of Control Strategy documents, DCS/SIS system design, selection and procurement of plant instrumentation.
Experience is required with preparation of P&IDs, Cause & Effect diagrams, Process Control Narratives, Specifications for Instrumentation and Control Systems, HAZOPs, SIL analysis, sizing and selection of instruments, procurement packages for Instrumentation and Control Systems.
Experience is also required with Plant/Process Automation including interface with DCS/SIS vendors, Process Licensors, Packaged Equipment vendors. Familiarity with controls /business information systems interface will be an asset.
Working knowledge of Canadian and International codes and standards is essential. Effective communication skills and the ability to supervise project teams and work closely with clients and other disciplines are essential.
Candidates must have a degree or diploma in engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with Control System Engineering experience in Oil, Gas and Petrochemical facilities.
