Our client's Northern Plains Exploration Resource group is looking for a senior staff level engineer interested in an opportunity to work with a fast paced multi-disciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists, engineers, and land personnel. As the successful candidate you will be responsible developing the business case, planning for, and developing alternatives for new unconventional and resource plays which will provide our client the opportunity to significantly grow gas production. This position will be at the forefront of our client's efforts to develop new resource plays within western Canada.
Specific duties include:
- Develop the business case for new resource plays within the team.
- Participate in the technical assessment of new resource/shale gas opportunities.
- Work closely with support groups such as Drilling, Completions and Facilities, and the production Business Units.
- Working with the Resource team to develop play entry strategies.
- Develop alternatives for plants, rates of development and other economic criteria critical for success in new resource plays.
- Assessing land sales as well as potential partnerships, farmins, farmouts, and acquisitions.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognized degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of oil and gas experience, with at least 5 years exploitation experience.
- Be registered, or capable of being registered with APEGGA.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, computer, and communication skills.
- MS Word, MS Excel, and ACCUMAP proficiency is required. Proficiency with SAP and Merak PEEP would be considered an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work, as a professional, in a well established multi-disciplinary team environment. Good teamwork skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational skills to handle a wide variety of tasks in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
