[Company], an internationally recognized seismic and well log acquisition, processing, and interpretation company, has a full-time position open for a Geophysical Processing QC Manager.
 
Job Description:
The Geophysical Processing QC Manager’s primary responsibility will be to manage and provide geophysical support to project managers and contractor/consultants overseeing multi-client seismic projects. In this role the incumbent will keep abreast of new technology and suggest new technology on a targeted basis as well as assist Imaging and Marketing with client meetings.
 
Job duties will include:
  • reviewing multi-client project processing flows
  • monitoring processing progress, and defining quality control procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
  • This position also requires soliciting processing bids and monitoring projects at outside vendors.
  • Additionally, the Geophysical Processing QC Manager will work closely with the Processing Imaging staff in checking out new software, trouble-shooting and suggesting new tools and enhancements for multi-client projects.
  • Maintaining processing status and metrics for multi-client projects is essential.
  • Review and administer processing contracts
  • ensure adequate and proper project documentation
  • manage contract personnel
  • suggest value added attribute processing for vintage and current multi-client projects.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Master’s degree or higher in math, geophysics, or related degree preferred, but will consider a bachelor’s degree with the appropriate experience.
  • 10 years minimum experience in R&D or seismic data processing.
  • Experience with UNIX and/or Linux based software packages.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment but can work independently.
  • Strong background in geophysics and seismic data processing.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and motivated to improve and maintain high quality while meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to clients and internal personnel.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with Marketing, Imaging, R&D and external clients.
 
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with pre stack time processing techniques.
  • Familiar with tomography and depth imaging technology.
  • Strong decision making abilities as well as strong interpersonal skills.
