About The Job:
Senior Field Engineers analyze internal and external customer needs by using [Company]Engineering tools/resources to provide them with safe and effective recommendations/solutions.
They, also train personnel in the use of new or modified software or equipment, develop and implement new and/or unique solutions to problems presented, and provide day-to-day technical support such as job procedures, calculations and post-job analysis to field operations and their external customers.
In addition, Senior Field Engineers act as the district(s) technical salesman, interface with external customers and actively participate in jobs in the field.
Another important aspect of their job would be to promote all [Company]safety programs and Company policies while continually expressing and enforcing the commitment to safety by stopping any work in which a safety hazard has been identified until all affected parties are made aware of the possible hazard and all reasonable measures have been taken to mitigate the hazard; applying appropriate safety factors when performing engineering calculations, keeping in mind that the safety of personnel will be affected by these calculations; keeping current with all required safety training courses and maintaining a safe driving record.
The Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work within the United States.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in a manner that enables the employee to communicate effectively and safely in the workplace.
- Should have a 4 year degree in either Civil, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering.
- Candidates with an Associates degree or appropriate experience may be considered for this position based on background and prior experience.
- Must have at least 5 years experience in an operations or engineering related position in the oilfield
- Must be able to perform thermodynamic calculations, triaxial stress calculations and apply distortion energy theorem.
- Must have working knowledge of hydraulics and electronics.
- Must be able to use a personal computer and know how to use Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point.
- Must be able to obtain a valid passport and travel to various domestic and foreign locations to perform required work
- Must be able to climb ladders/stairways to work on service equipment
Work Conditions:
- Senior Field Engineers work in varied environments and, sometimes, in what may be considered harsh environments.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, in addition to working at heights may be experienced when working in field or plant locations.
- In addition, they are required to travel to various domestic and foreign locations to perform work. Senior Field Engineers must, also, be able to support internal and external customers in the oilfield.
- Many of these customers work seven days per week and well past "normal" business hours.
- All Engineers are equipped with cell phones, portable computers, and internet access to allow them to serve these customers whenever the need arises.
