Responsibilities:
The Senior Marine Engineers use recognised national and international standards when they calculate the static and dynamic loads and define the operating criteria's.
The Senior Marine Engineers use both software developed in-house and recognised software packages for their work.
Senior Marine Engineers are often involved in crane verifications, sub-contractor follow-up and they manage relevant technical interfaces towards suppliers, clients and verification bodies.
They often write or review the lifting and over boarding procedures, they participate in the lift planning and they work offshore in connection with installation work.
The Senior Marine Engineers often work in a discipline environment with other Marine Engineers and give advice the Project Engineers and some of the other involved disciplines.
Marine Engineers are often used to verify the proposed methodology as early as the tendering stage in a project. They are also involved in feasibility studies for external clients and on internal research and development projects.
The Senior Marine Engineers supervise smaller groups of Marine Engineers comprising both experienced and graduate engineers.
Mentoring and supervision of young graduate engineers are a natural part of the Senior Marine Engineers job.
The Senior Marine Engineers are also involved in planning and lecturing on the internal familiarisation courses for graduates and new engineers, and they contribute in Centres of Excellence and in R&D work within the region or in the global R&D group.
Requirements:
Senior Marine Engineers have solid academic background combined with minimum 5 years relevant experience.
