Our growing Calgary office is looking for a Contracts/Purchasing Specialist.
 
This position will be responsible for assigned contract administrative services, including contract compliance, subcontracting, procurement, and other business related support to the projects.
 
Key duties include:
  • Provides professional services in the areas of contract administration and compliance, procurement, price analysis, insurance and other business services to support projects.
  • Ensures compliance with the corporate policies and procedures consistent with the contract terms and the firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Provides instruction and guidance to Project Managers to ensure that projects comply with the firm’s corporate risk management policies.
  • Interfaces with accounts payable to process the Region’s invoices. Ensures that each invoice processed for payment is consistent with the terms, conditions, and payment provisions of a valid obligation instrument.
  • Responsible for subcontract procurements (i.e. solicit/select/award). Performs post award subcontracting activities to ensure their compliance with contract terms in a cost-effective , timely and responsive manner. Initiate and participate in competitive bidding as required.
  • Leads/participates in contract negotiations with subcontractors.
  • Develops and maintains complete and accurate contract files.
  • Supports periodic internal and external project audits.
  • Supports the development of cost and management proposals; and assists in the completion of cost and pricing proposals.
  • Inputs into the Oracle based procurement system, maintaining procurement information on behalf of the Regional Contracts Manager.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have 5 years of directly applicable experience, and a Bachelors degree in Business or related discipline or equivalent.
