Description
Working within a fast-paced team environment and reporting to the General Manager, Communications, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic internal communication plans and programs. To accomplish this you have exceptional leadership skills as well as solid planning, writing and analytical skills. You are able to come into our organization and quickly learn about our business and our people.
You have the ability to build strong relationships with all levels of management and be able to integrate effectively with other departments and our people in the field. You will also have extensive experience in managing various internal events and programs. In addition, you will be a part of a team of professionals to successfully execute communication plans.
Responsibilities
- Working with General Manager, Communications, develop and execute an annual internal communication plan that supports ATCO Power’s business plan goals to ensure employees at all levels.
- Understand the key priorities of the company as they relate to their work.
- Have access to corporate tools, templates and information.
- Receive timely and accurate information on corporate policies, practices, and procedures.
- Oversee all corporate internal communication vehicles, event and programs as well as all employee recognition events, programs and ATCO Epic campaign.
Qualifications
- Degree or College Diploma in Journalism, Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, or Business including courses in business writing and editing.
- 5-10 years experience working in a corporate communications environment including experience providing counsel and support to senior management.
- At least three years experience in a corporate internal communications leadership role with responsibility for the overall internal communications strategy and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and coach less experienced staff including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to give and receive positive feedback.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong, productive working relationships with all levels of management as well as functional areas of the business. Ability to prepare and oversee the execution of strategic, measurable, communication plans.
- Membership and accreditation in the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) or similar professional association an asset.
- Excellent consulting skills and investigative skills. Project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite programs would be an asset
