Position Summary:
This position will lead E&P strategic sourcing activities for the categories that they manage.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation and management of sourcing strategies for the categories assigned;
- Analyze supply market intelligence and monitor market trends for the categories assigned.
- Develop a supply market forecast with the assistance of the Supply Market Analyst;
- Determine demand for materials and services in the categories assigned on a five quarter rolling plan.
- Work with Regional Procurement Leads and Reservoir Engineering to determine and set the probabilities associated with the demand that reflect the likelihood of the demand occurring and when it will occur;
- Analyze historical spending and monitor current spending for the categories assigned in collaboration with the Supply Market Analyst;
- Determine the appropriate sourcing strategy based on the supply market characteristics and lead the implementation of that strategy through the development of supply agreements.
- Utilize a team-based approach to strategic sourcing that includes end users on the team for technical and decision-making support;
- Build personal technical knowledge of the materials and services that comprise the categories assigned;
- Develop measurement scorecard for categories assigned in order to determine value trend and continuous improvement performance;
- Manage the key vendor relationships in the categories assigned.
- Work closely with end-users to monitor vendor performance.
- Develop a vendor performance scorecard that is reviewed regularly with the vendor and end user.
- Provide vendors with demand for the categories they serve.
- Monitor spend data for leakage;
- Work closely with SCM Purchasing to fulfill end-user demand for materials and services, to share market knowledge and sourcing techniques that may apply to bids and to review sub-categories that are bid or strategically sourced that may require a different approach;
- Establish master service agreements with key vendors in the categories assigned;
- Lead the negotiation of commercial and contract terms to achieve optimum results and follow through to award and execution for categories strategically sourced;
- Ensure compliance with industry and company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices including strategic sourcing, market analysis, contracting methodologies, risk analysis, and supplier performance management;
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various disciplines and levels within the organization;
- Ability to apply sourcing strategy philosophy as well as process.
- A student of the ‘art’ of sourcing as well as the mechanics;
- Ability to organize and prioritize work activities to support business objectives;
- Strong networking, interpersonal, leadership and teamwork/collaboration skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Strong written, verbal and PC skills (MS-Excel, Access, Word, Project and Powerpoint)
Experience:
- Minimum ten (10) years experience related to purchasing, engineering and/or supply chain management;
- Experience in E&P operations preferred;
- Working knowledge of electronic sourcing and procurement tools preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline (supply chain management, engineering or technical services)
