The Ideal Candidate The perfect candidate will bring strong leadership and teamwork abilities, proven sales success and a strong knowledge of the oil and gas industry. They will be ready to enter a critical role with our client to improve their position in the sub-industry through quantum leaps in product recognition and financial growth. Experience in software or data management solution sales would be a significant asset.
Job Description The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small sales and marketing team, which is already highly functional but needs that proven experience and vision to reach the next level.
Our client makes a number of separate software and data management tools and services available to a range of major oil and gas clients, and increasingly, smaller players in the industry. Historically, the sales cycle on this product has been long, and recognizing this, the successful candidate would be required to leverage their strong network of contacts in Calgary and in other markets to drive increases in product and service market share.
Responsibilities
• Development of sales and marketing strategy for four separate product lines;
• Laying the foundation of the company's sales platform;
• Implementing these ideas to lead the company into new successes;
• Mentoring current business development staff;
• Assisting in developing new revenue generation streams and refining existing ones;
• Leveraging networks to create high-value, long-term client relationships;
• Participating in regular team meetings;
• Tracking activities and forecasting using in-house CRM software.
Requirements
• Proven success in enterprise sales at an executive level;
• Five to ten years experience in sales management;
• Experience selling software solutions and consulting services;
• University degree in business, engineering or related field;
• Oil and gas experience would be a very strong asset - candidates with other areas of expertise will be considered if all other requirements are met;
• Ability to think strategically and entrepreneurially;
• Experience dealing with and contacts at C-level would be a strong asset;
• Desire to work in close collaboration with sales team members;
• Strong language skills and strong computer skills.
Compensation and Benefits Details This position will include a very competitive salary (negotiable based on experience), flexible hours and regular benefits. Future opportunities to enter into profit-sharing agreements may exist.
