Our client is a privately owned and operated drilling fluid service and supply company that has been providing quality products and service for over 20 years.  Based in Western Canada, our client is primarily focused in Alberta and B.C, with the majority of service experience in the Peace Arch, Northeastern B.C, Edson, Foothills, and Grande Prairie regions.
 
The Opportunity
 
Our client is in need of a professional individual to fill the role of Senior Technical Sales Manager. This is an extremely fast-paced business environment that requires the candidate to be extremely organized, hardworking, energetic, and motivated by success.  This position is a highly technical job opportunity responsible for achieving account retention and developing new account targets within one or more defined markets or territories.
 
Primary Job Duties are:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, goals and objectives to obtain the highest sales growth from assigned client accounts.
  • Executing client contracts and work with all appropriate departments of the company.
  • Negotiate and execute terms and pricing for sales agreements in conjunction with marketing and sales management.
  • Lead technical client discussions to ensure that the customer is informed of all details of the product, specifications and recommendations.
  • Evaluate new sales and product opportunities and formulate plans, reports and recommendations to the company.
  • Communicate sales and marketing philosophy, strategies and assist in various technical recommendations to junior technical sales representatives.
Qualifications, Experience and Education
  • A Bachelor of Science degree with Chemistry major or a Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering degree is required.
  • A NAIT/SAIT graduate with a technical diploma in either discipline is appropriate.
  • Ten or more years experience in oil and gas exploration in which five years must be experience with drilling fluids.
  • Efficient PC Skills required to develop professional presentations.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Candidate must be self motivated, dedicated, self confident, organized and a team player.
  • Candidate should be persistent in a positive way and take initiative with enthusiasm.
  • Have good communication, problem solving and negotiating skills.
  • Have the ability to build rapport & gain trust with clients.
  • Be organized and be self disciplined to manage time effectively.
  • Candidate must be a leader for junior sales staff.
  • Experience with management principles and supervisory practices are an asset.
