Responsibilities:
- Design of fracturing treatments using appropriate tools and modeling software, including the selection of appropriate stimulation techniques, fluids, materials, and equipment as well as preparation of efficient and safe work procedures
- Prepare cost estimates of treatments for Sales/Customers
- Work with Sales and Operations through the group leader to ensure that job designs are feasible, effective and consistent with equipment and materials availability (logistics)
- Support the development of performance criteria and standards for jobs, as well as a tracking system to perform effective job performance evaluation
- Supervise and analyze the execution of critical treatments, from a technical perspective, making design improvements and modifications to ensure job success (involves clear communication and sound decision making, in a fast paced, “real time” environment, involving related personnel in Engineering, Operations, Sales and the customer)
- Collection of job performance data and conducting the technical analysis/reporting of this data to support future improvements
- Review job designs prepared by junior staff through personal involvement as directed by the group leader
- Identification of improvements to job design, performance tracking, equipment, materials and/or techniques associated with effective job completion
- Participate actively in critical treatments that employ new materials, techniques or equipment; work with field staff (Operations and/or Engineering) or visits to the field may be required
- Support the preparation and maintenance of documents (templates, databases, training information, procedures, presentations, etc.) relevant to the position and to the group
- Meet regularly with other service line Technical Specialists to discuss and identify improvements to the technical organization, support activities and personnel development
- Provide guidance/mentoring to junior technical staff and subordinates that is progressive and consistent with existing developmental policies/practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree or technical diploma
- 3+ years experience in petroleum industry, preferably service company-oriented but may also be in drilling, completions, production, or reservoir.
- Must have good communication and decision making skills
- Must be highly motivated and a team player
