The Group Manager role includes responsibility for the operation of the group; coordinating workload allocation within the group, point of contact for employee enquiries, meeting financial performance goals and overall day to day management; including performance reviews, hiring and mentoring.
The Group Manager will work with and report to both the Division Manager as well as Senior members of the group to meet these management responsibilities. The successful candidate will participate in development of the business strategy, business development plan, hiring and mentoring of staff.
The Group Manager will also contribute to the success of the group as a technical consultant. The candidate will be expected to bring a solid technical skill set that will enable them to work on technical projects for part of their time.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate must be confident in leading within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• A Bachelor degree in Engineering, Geology, or other environmental related discipline.
• Proven management experience ; with an excellent aptitude for managing a group of professionals
• Polished communication skills
• Solid critical thinking skills
• Consistently demonstrates leadership; live-feel-share the vision
• Academic qualifications which give the candidate eligibility for professional registration in Alberta an asset
• Consulting experience an asset
