Essential Job Duties:
Managing development of surface oil and gas production facilities and infrastructure projects from conception through implementation, including oil/condensate/water/gas separation, conditioning and processing facilities; pipelines; compressor stations; pumping stations; power supplies, and related equipment.
Analyzing, troubleshooting, and refurbishing existing surface infrastructure elements for optimum utilization.
Project planning and management for safe execution of projects with predictable costs, schedules and performances.
Preparation of technical documents, such as specifications, Scopes of Work for contracts, purchase requisitions, etc.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in design of onshore or offshore oil and gas production and/or gas conditioning, processing and pipeline facilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including safety considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and implementation.
- Sound knowledge of such process safety management techniques such as Hazops, PSSR, MOC.
- Demonstrated ability to work within multidiscipline team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences within the business unit, including contractors.
- Experience in use of formal project management processes and related scheduling software such as MS Project.
- Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information and within the time deadline required.
- Proficiency in hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing/design, and system design.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Proficiency in or ability to learn applicable technical and economic analysis software.
Working knowledge of the following in context of upstream oil and gas operations:
- OSHA Process Safety Management elements and typical safety program requirements
- ASME industry codes and standards
- Typical rotating and stationary equipment
- Typical materials of construction
- Process control elements and systems
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of reliability engineering principles and life cycle cost analysis.
- Working knowledge of corrosion engineering principles.
- Working knowledge of procurement systems and contracting.
- Ability to represent the company’s commercial and technical interests with vendors and contract staff.
- Working knowledge of typical onshore or offshore oil and gas construction practices.
- Working knowledge of onshore or offshore oil and gas operations and maintenance functions.
- Experience with steam flooding and/or CO2 flooding operations.
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual is a plus
