Ram River is a core upstream area within the Foothills/NW Plains Business Unit. Husky’s Ram River assets include wells and lands located along the foothills, west of Red Deer, as well as the Ram River Gas Plant, which is one of the largest sour gas processing facilities in North America. Ram River’s gas gathering system is an extensive network of sour service pipelines and includes two major dehydration/compression facilities. Husky’s production from the Ram River Assets is over 75 mmcf/d of natural gas and 2000 bbl/d of liquids.
The successful candidate will support the Foothills / NW Plains Business unit by working closely with Exploitation and Production Engineers with a focus on regulatory compliance. As a member of a multi-disciplinary technical team, you will play a key role in the exploitation and development of oil and gas assets.
Reporting to the Ram River Asset Manager, responsibilities will include:
- Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of ERCB Directives, Bulletins, and other regulatory documentation.
- Prepare and submit ERCB Directive 65 applications
- Monitor royalty credits to ensure Husky is receiving full entitlement
- Enter field production data into PVR system where automatic SCADA data transfer does not exist
- Verify “PAS” files from digital flow, pressure and fluid analysis reports. Submit “PAS” files to ERCB DDS (Digital Database System) and verify acceptance. Document “PAS” files and ERCB acceptance using the corporate Document Management system
- Provide compliance monitoring support to Operations Superintendents, including submission of “Self-Declaration” reports of non-compliance issues to avoid enforcement
- Monitor production allowables
- Work with Exploitation and Production Engineers to ensure that annual pressure surveys, casing vent flow tests, and isolation packers tests are completed and submitted on time
- Develop a familiarity with systems used by Exploitation and Production Engineering, such as PVR, Maxwell, OpWorks, the Petroleum Registry of Alberta, SAP, and Livelink
Qualifications
We are looking for:
- Completed a recognized Technologist or Production Technician program
- A minimum of 3 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, preferably with a focus on regulatory compliance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work and set priorities in a multitask environment with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft office products
