Job Summary:
This position may be filled at the Engineer I, II or III level depending on the experience of the individual.
This position will require the candidate to perform:
- facility planning analyses on both the gas transmission and gathering systems to determine performance of the systems and facility requirements for expansions;
- develop preliminary facility cost estimates; and,
- other studies as needed to support the Gas Business & Facility Planning group.

- Proficiently performs assignments having the knowledge, skills and abilities and experience needed to carry out all aspects of the job.
- Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing and conducting work assignments.
- May receive instructions and guidance on unusual or complex problems and knows when to get others involved.
- Effectively utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches encountered in work assignments.
- Identifies and eliminates unnecessary work and non-value added activities.
The following skills are preferred:
- Stoner modeling;
- understanding transmission, storage, and gathering system operations;
- understanding the terms and conditions of services offered by both [Company]and[Company]; and,
- coordination with Marketing, Gas Control, Engineering, Gas Storage, and System Optimization relating to studies performed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences (Minimum Requirements):
- The candidate will require good computer and communication skills.
- Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position
- Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/ingenuity to achieve project objectives
- Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Excel, Stoner, database applications, etc.)
- Planning, organizational and project management skills
- Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills
- Effective decision making skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing)
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices
- Equally effective working independently or in a team environment
- Prior facility planning and modeling experience a plus
Education Required:
Bachelors in Engineering
