Responsibilities:
Responsibility for one or more trading book Pnl Reporting, commmentary and control(depending on complexity)
Contributing towards the performance of GTEL through the production of the daily MI (daily profit & loss & MVAR) for the books, ensuring it is thoroughly checked and accurate, ensuring that all the moves and positions are clearly understood, and producing a succinct & informative commentary on the books performance for the Front office & management team.
This will be done daily, weekly and monthly.
Developing a deep understanding of their books, the gas and/or power markets and GTEL’s activities in the market.
Developing a strong relationship with the front office and fellow team members.
Ensuring the accounts are accurate and complete and be willing to address the numerous queries from the finance community about the accounts for their books.
Compliance – reporting and control activity to support the trading desk in understanding and controlling trading costs.
Requirements:
Deep understanding of book & markets
Good degree; financial background
High level of numerical & analytical ability
Solid finance background
Good knowledge of accounting practices
Attention to details, strong IT skills and aptitude
Keen interest in markets, keen interest in analytical work
Good team player
Confident & good communicator
