The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:
- eight years as Reservoir Engineer in the oil and gas industry
- working knowledge in economic software, surveillance software, and well modeling software
- experience in Aries and OFM is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor's of Science in Petroleum Engineering
Position responsibilities include to:
- generate economic evaluations, reserve forecasts and reserve estimates for both new and existing producing properties for both quarterly evaluations and year end SEC reserves
- work with geologists to assist in generating strategically focused plan of development
- recommend special data requirements and evaluation techniques
- identify performance drivers and best practices by generating empirical correlations incorporating petrophysical, stimulation, and production parameters
- assist in capital planning and budget cycle economics
- generate economic and performance evaluation on pilot programs in field and present to technical staff and upper management
- serve as a mentor to younger petrotechnical staff in relevant aspects of reservoir engineering; and interact with Corporate Planning and Business Development groups representing assets interests.
analyze performance of new wells in field and generate type curves for predicting future performance by area using:
- modeling/normalizing historical performance of wells
- probability analysis of EUR's and IP's
- work with multi-disciplinary team to determine both optimal well spacing and well placement
- work with multi-disciplinary team to delineate/identify productive and economic viability of different producing horizons
