Applications for a Mechanic/Millwright are invited. Hanlan Robb is one of Petro-Canada's larger company operated sour gas processing facility with capacity to process 9,000 10 3m3 of raw inlet sour gas and 900 tonnes of sulphur per day. Hanlan Robb also operates a sweet gas plant capable of processing 600 10 3M3. Operations are based out of Edson, population of approximately 10,000. Edson features all amenities and has complete recreation facilities. The plant is approximately 75 km south west of Edson.
The Hanlan Robb Maintenance Team is responsible for the maintenance of Petro-Canada's operated facilities in the Robb area, as well as 3rd party producer's facilities that Petro-Canada operates on their behalf. The Maintenance Team is focused on maintaining equipment and pursuing opportunities that will enhance the value of the assets while improving the reliability of the operation.
Accountabilities
Reporting to the Team Leader Maintenance, you will work directly with an integrated Maintenance Team consisting of approximately 30-35 full time personnel who interact regularly with other on-site staff (engineers, supervisors, maintenance personnel, quality assurance/control, plant and field operators, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform routine preventative and predictive inspections on equipment.
Perform planned inspections on equipment.
Install, maintain, service, repair and overhaul mechanical equipment.
Troubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical equipment.
Assist in maintaining complete and accurate records relating to PM program.
Provide work related guidance to mechanical contractors.
Capability Requirements
Specific Functional/Technical Skills:
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright with Alberta or inter-provincial trade certificate.
Must have five years mechanical experience as a Journeyman working with natural gas engines and reciprocating/screw compressors.
Experience with Caterpillar, Waukesha, Dresser, Ariel, and White Superior equipment is preferred.
Must be a self starter with demonstrated ability to make sound decisions while working with limited direct supervision.
Must have demonstrated skills as a team player and a track record in providing constructive maintenance ideas in a cost effective manner.
Well developed troubleshooting skills are a requirement.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
General Skills / Knowledge / Attributes:
Analytical and problem solving skills (maintenance data gathering, manipulation, and analysis.)
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated strong planning and organizational skills.
Complete understanding of Preventative/Predictive Maintenance Methodology.
Must work well within a strong team environment.

This position is covered under Local CEP 508A agreement
Staffing center is Edson, with company transportation provided
Modified Monday to Friday work week with four 10 hour shifts per week (Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday)
