Reporting to the U&O Operations Team Lead (Chief Power Engineer), the U&O Shift Supervisor will:
Initially provide Operational input during the development, construction, commissioning, and start up phases of the Fort Hills Project to ensure a successful start up.
Post start up the U&O Shift Supervisor will serve the role of the Shift Engineer as per ABSA requirements and will be responsible for the direct Supervision of one of the four U&O Operating Teams.
Accountabilities
Serve the function of the Shift Engineer as per ABSA requirements of a 1st Class Power Plant
Direct, coach and manage a team of Shift Operators on a 12 hour shift basis
Administer applicable Petro-Canada Oil Sands Inc procedures, practices and policies
Write and review SOPs, and performing task analysis on an ongoing basis
Provide proactive safety and environmental leadership by example
Investigate incidents, enter accordingly into ProAct and ensure the timely completion of all assigned action items
Assist in the training and qualification of Shift Operators
Set measurable objectives and monitor such performance for the Operations team
Support/Co-ordinate the skill development plans of all the Shift Operators
Capability Requirements
A Minimum of 10 years Operating experience in a large Industrial Steam and/or Utilities Plant
Previous Supervisory Experience would be a definite asset
Experience in Plant Start-Up/Commissioning would be a definite asset
Additional Information
Presence required in Calgary for the initial phase of the work. Long term, the position will involve supervising a Crew at the Fort Hills site.
Frequent visits to EPC offices during the design phases will be required.
