Job Description:
Identifies and oversees electrical distribution and generation projects in accordance with accepted codes and standards. 
 
The Job:    
  • Coordinates project planning and execution with Technical and Asset Development Facility Engineering Teams, Construction Representatives and Operations Representatives
  • Identifies opportunities, participates in or is directly responsible for front end loading for Cogen optimization, de-bottlenecking and reliability improvement opportunities. 
  • Applies fit for purpose CPDEP project management principles and tools. 
  • Prepares Decision Support Packages and reports to appropriate DRB’s
  • Lead electrical power project meetings; provide engineering support to project team on electrical power distribution and power generation facility systems
  • Identifies & develops reliability improvement opportunities
  • Designs electrical distribution, generation systems, electrical loadflow/short circuit/coordination models, electrical and instrumentation components to the Cogen reliability upgrades and Low NOX Attainment projects
  • Applies fit for purpose CPDEP project management principles and tools
  • Ensures designs are based on optimum reliability, operability, fabrication, construction, installation, safety, and in accordance with accepted codes and standards
  • Oversees business partners performing electrical design and CAD support
  • Prepares or oversees preparation of project drawings, specifications, procedures, material requisitions, and documents
  • Ensures project activities support Incident Free Operations, including participating in or coordination of Management of Change and Process Hazards Analysis.
  • Prepares or supervises preparation of project Standard Operating Procedures and ensures operator and maintenance staff training
  • Conducts joint commissioning and turnover inspections with Operations and Maintenance personnel
  • Networks with team members and other I&E Professionals in industry and throughout Chevron to stay abreast of new technology and applications

  • Utilizes project management and capital stewardship processes and objectives during, development, design and construction
 
Qualifications:
  • Degree and five years minimum related experience
  • Knowledge of typical engineering design related to Cogeneration operations and applications
  • Knowledge and experience in evaluation, design, construction, and commissioning of Electrical Power, Instrumentation and Control Systems
  • Understanding of Design, Construction and Safety Codes and Regulations
 
 
Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.  TN Visas are acceptable
 
No relocation is offered for this position.  Per Diem available to those that qualify.
